Coffee Straight From Frankfurt's Harbor

Caffè Due Mani stands for Italian espresso with character. Choose aromatic coffee beans, careful roasts, and balanced blends for espresso machines, fully automatic coffee machines, and moka pots, and discover authentic coffee enjoyment rooted in Italian tradition.

Coffee is enjoyment and zest for life. That is the motto behind Caffè Due Mani, the roastery that founders Stephan Gruner and Max Jakubowski opened at Frankfurt's harbor in 2017.

Caffè Due Mani offers classic Italian espresso blends, single origins, specialty Arabica, and special microlot coffees, and every batch is roasted entirely by hand. The roastery already celebrates its fifth anniversary in April, and roastmarket is delighted to welcome these premium coffees into the assortment.

For espresso and filter coffee, that means precise, layered cups with distinct profiles. Single origins, carefully composed blends, and seasonal lots make the range relevant for everyday brewing and more exact home barista routines alike.

Caffè Due Mani Coffee for Every Coffee Drinker

Premium coffee from a small batch roastery is easy to taste, because every special lot gets full attention and is roasted to match its own aroma profile and flavor. That takes a careful touch and real passion for coffee.

Welcome to Caffè Due Mani, home to fine specialty coffees and microlots alongside classic Italian roasts, all sourced through direct trade with the farmers and growers of the origin regions. This range gives every coffee drinker something to enjoy and invites a more conscious way to choose and savor good coffee.

Founders Stephan and Max see their roastery less as a typical third wave roastery and more as a no wave roastery. Whether it is a classic espresso blend, a specialty coffee, a pure Arabica, or an exclusive microlot, every coffee variety has its own place, because coffee taste is always personal, and the different coffees offer exciting flavor profiles for very different palates.pour over brewers, or an AeroPress because acidity, sweetness, and structure stay clearly defined.

Caffè Due Mani is Italian for two hands, a nod to how much of the process is done by hand. The beans are hand picked and then roasted at the manufactory in Germany. That same hands-on approach carries over to coffee drinkers, who grind their Caffè Due Mani beans fresh in their own coffee grinder to enjoy the full aroma.coffee for fully automatic coffee machines when body and balance matter more than sharp contrast.

Deep Coffee Passion Meets Real Expertise

Both founders grew up in Frankfurt, have known each other since early childhood, and have pursued a shared vision ever since.

Max lived in Italy for quite some time and often visited local roasteries there, learning about the craft of roasting and traditional coffee growing while gaining hands on experience as a roaster. It quickly became clear to him that he wanted to serve the third wave coffee market.

Stephan studied media economics and, through his close friendship with Max, always kept a direct connection to coffee. His marketing and communication perspective fits perfectly with a coffee market that never stands still, and he is passionate about introducing customers to high quality coffee. Together, Max and Stephan decide in Frankfurt which green coffees join the range and deliberately involve their customers in the process. Weekends are set aside for tasting sessions, where the team actively gathers customer feedback to fine tune the coffees to different wishes and tastes.

It also helps to compare whole bean coffees by origin and intended extraction, especially when pairing them with an espresso machine, a fully automatic coffee machine, or a dedicated setup with one of the coffee grinders needed for finer grind control.

How Coffee and Espresso Are Roasted

All green coffee beans are processed entirely by hand at the in house roastery in Frankfurt's Osthafen district, without any machine automation. Each coffee variety needs different settings and close analysis so its individual flavor notes and aromas can be extracted perfectly.

Coffee is mainly produced from Monday to Wednesday, while Thursday to Sunday works like an open house for tours, visitors, and coffee enthusiasts. On Friday and Saturday, the team also offers a dedicated coffee tasting room, where beginners, advanced drinkers, and true coffee experts alike can try a wide range of coffees and blends with expert guidance. On request, every visitor receives an individually curated tasting set.

The team mainly sources pure specialty Arabica coffees along with a seasonally changing microlot selection that always depends on the harvest. Coffee samples are thoroughly tested and evaluated, so new bean varieties, unusual roast profiles, and microlots are regularly added to the range.whole beans, coffee for espresso machines, and brewing-specific options such as coffee for pour over or coffee for French Press.

The roasting process itself is especially important and calls for a combination of careful touch and real expertise. The beans need to develop a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, whether for light roast profiles or classic dark roast espresso blends. At Caffè Due Mani there is no room to relax: quality checks through cupping and daily experimentation with roast profiles keep the quality and flavor balance of these premium coffees consistent.filter coffee accessories, espresso machine accessories, and practical coffee scales for more consistent results.
