Barbera Caffè brings over 150 years of Neapolitan roasting tradition
Barbera Caffè brings more than 150 years of Neapolitan roasting tradition to every cup, blending time honored family recipes with a modern approach to quality. Founded in 1870 by Domenico Barbera, nicknamed il mago, the family roastery still sources beans from Brazil, Central America, and Indonesia and turns them into whole beans, ground coffee, coffee capsules, and coffee pods, so it is easy to match roast intensity and flavor to your favorite brewing method without losing that authentic Neapolitan character.

Barbera Caffè, a roastery built on family tradition
Soon after Domenico Barbera started roasting on the streets of Naples, the family bought a new roaster called Tornado, able to roast up to 30 kilograms of beans at once, and the family business began to grow. When Domenico died unexpectedly, his son Antonio took over and pushed the roastery forward while staying true to the family's traditions. Between the two World Wars, Barbera Caffè became the most popular coffee across southern Italy. Since 2014, Elio and Enrico Junior have led the family roastery in its sixth generation, with the German branch based in Bochum, where a mobile espresso bar has served fresh espresso on the marketplace every Friday since 2017.
Coffee and espresso from Italy
Barbera Caffè offers a wide range spanning whole beans, ground blends, capsules, pods, and small coffee treats. The family business carefully selects its finest beans directly from producers in Brazil, Central America, and Indonesia, then processes them slowly and gently into the products available at roastmarket, whether in capsules, as pods, or as whole beans. After roasting, every bean is cooled with dry air instead of water, giving it the time it needs to develop its full aroma. That care and more than 140 years of experience shape the character of every blend.

Traceability across the coffee supply chain
Barbera Caffè is one of the first major coffee companies to introduce complete traceability across its coffee supply chain, relying on a decentralized platform built on blockchain technology to keep the entire journey visible, from harvesting and drying the raw beans to grinding, transport, final roasting, and packaging. Selected roasts such as Barbera Clean Cup Blend, Barbera Blue Baron, and Ethiopia Sidamo can be followed step by step through an individual tracking link, giving a transparent, verifiable view of the journey from origin to cup, supported by the TrackGood platform.
